INTRODUCTION:
Energy conservation practices have acquired top priority, in the present context of acute power shortage and liberalization of economy. Industry needs to be aware of the latest trends in reducing energy costs, so as to be globally competitive. Some of the states like Gujarat, Punjab, Tamilnadu and Kerala have already made Energy Audit mandatory for all industrial establishments where maximum load exceeds 200 KVA.

To create and spread awareness on energy conservation in Indian Industry, the Energy Management Cell of CII has been organizing seminars and training programmes on Energy Conservation and audit at various industrial centers.

Against this backdrop, CII is organizing a one day advanced training program on Energy Management on 3 December 2009 at Hotel Express Residency, Alkapuri Society, Vadodara.

Mr Dipesh Shah is the Head of Energy Management Cell of CII – WR. He has 15 years of hands on experience in the field of Energy Management & Conservation, Project Management, Detailed Engineering & Project Implementation, Engineering Maintenance, Process & Yield Monitoring. He has been involved in both national & international projects on energy conservation, management. He has trained more than 250 companies in efficient energy management and also has been involved in policy work with state Government. He is also a certified Energy Auditor of Bureau of Energy Efficiency – Govt of India.

૧લી મે ર૦૧૦થી ગુજરાતની સુવર્ણ જ્યંતિની વાર્ષિક ઉજવણી શરૂ થવાની છે તે સમગ્ર હિન્દુસ્તાનમાં એક ઐતિહાસિક ધટના રૂપે સુવર્ણાક્ષરે નોંધાય તેવી સુનિશ્ચિત દિશાની રૂપરેખા તેમણે આપી હતી અને એકેએક નાગરિક ગુજરાતની પ્રગતિ માટે રોજ એક ડગલું આગળ ચાલવાનો સંકલ્પ કરે અને ગુજરાતની સમાજશકિતનું વિકાસના જનઆંદોલનનું સામર્થ્ય, દેશ અને દુનિયા સમક્ષ પ્રસ્તુત કરે એવી અપીલ સાથે નવા વર્ષની શુભકામના તેમણે કોટી કોટી નાગરિકોને પાઠવી હતી.

ગુજરાતના બધા જ ર૬ જિલ્લાઓને આવરી લેતા સાઇબર ટેકનોલોજી નેટવર્કથી રાજ્યની ઇ-ગ્રામ પંચાયતો, શિક્ષણ સંકુલો, ઇ-ગવર્નન્સ કેન્દ્રોના મળીને એકંદરે ર૦,૦૦૦થી વધુ સાઇબર કનેકટીવિટી કેન્દ્રોમાં ઉપસ્થિત એકંદરે એક કરોડથી પણ અધિક નાગરિક જનસમૂદાય, જનપ્રતિનિધિઓ, પંચાયતો અને સ્થાનિક સ્વરાજની શહેરી નગરપાલિકાઓના પદાધિકારીઓ, સ્વૈચ્છિક સંગઠ્ઠનો, પ્રબુદ્ધ નાગરિકો, માતૃ-નારી શકિત, યુવાવર્ગ અને વિઘાર્થી પેઢી, બાળકો સહિત સમાજના વિવિધ નાગરિકોએ શ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઇ મોદી સાથે સીધા સંવાદરૂપે નવા વર્ષની શુભેચ્છા સાથે, અભિનવ સંકલ્પસિદ્ધિઓના પ્રતિભાવો વ્યકત કર્યા હતા.આ સાઇબર સ્નેહ મિલનમાં વરિષ્ઠ મંત્રીઓ સર્વ નરોત્તમભાઇ પટેલ, આનંદીબેન પટેલ, નીતિનભાઇ પટેલ, રમણભાઇ વોરા, મુખ્ય સચિવ ડી. રાજગોપાલન, પોલીસ મહાનિદેશક એસ. એસ. ખંડવાવાલા અને વરિષ્ઠ સચિવોએ હાજરી આપી હતી. ર૬ જિલ્લાઓમાંથી વિવિધ વર્ગોના સ્વર્ણિમ સંકલ્પસિદ્ધિ અને નવા સંકલ્પોના ઉત્સાહપ્રેરક પ્રતિભાવો આ સંવાદમાં પ્રાપ્ત થયા હતા.

છેલ્લા એક વર્ષથી સંકલ્પ જ્યોત યાત્રાના કારણે, ગુજરાતભરમાં સ્વર્ણિમ સંકલ્પમય વાતાવરણ બની ગયું છે તેને આવકારતાં મુખ્યમંત્રીએ જણાવ્યું કે સમાજશકિતના આ ભરોસાના આધારે, તેઓ સ્વર્ણિમ ગુજરાતની ઉજવણીને હિન્દુસ્તાનના જનજીવનની ઐતિહાસિક ધટનારૂપે, સાડાપાંચ કરોડ ગુજરાતીઓના સહિયારા પ્રજાકીય પુરૂષાર્થની પરાકાષ્ઠાનું દર્શન કરાવવા સંકલ્પબદ્ધ બન્યા છે.

"સમગ્ર દેશ કરતાં ગુજરાત આગળ છે, મોખરે છે એનાથી સંતોષ માની લેવાનો ગુજરાતીનો સ્વભાવ જ નથી ''રાજકીય આગેવાનો, વિભિન્ન રાજકીય વિચારધારાને વિસારે પાડીને કોટી-કોટી સામાન્ય નાગરિક જીવનમાં સંકલ્પ લઇને વાણી-વિચાર અને વ્યવહારનો સાક્ષાત્કાર કરાવે એમ તેમણે પ્રેરક અપીલમાં જણાવ્યું હતું.નવા વર્ષે ગુજરાતની વિકાસ ક્ષમતાનો વાવટો અવિરત ઉંચાઇ ઉપર ફરકતો રહે, જન-જનની આશા-આકાંક્ષાની પૂર્તિ થાય અને સમાજજીવનને સુખ, શાંતિ સુવિધાની અનુભૂતિ થાય એવી શુભેચ્છા સેટેલાઇટ ટેકનોલોજીથી નરેન્દ્રભાઇ મોદીએ પાઠવી હતી.

નૂતન વર્ષના નવા આયામોમાં શિક્ષણમાં સર્વસ્તરે ગુણવત્તા સુધારણા અને તે સંદર્ભમાં તા.૧ર-૧૩-૧૪ નવેમ્બરે યોજાનારા ગૂણોત્સવ અભિયાનમાં, માત્ર શિક્ષકો જ નહીં, સમગ્ર સમાજ, વાલીઓ અને ગુજરાતની આવતીકાલની ચિન્તા કરનારા સૌને પોતાનું યોગદાન આપવા તેમણે દર્દભરી અપીલ કરી હતી. ગુજરાતમાં શિક્ષણની ગુણાત્મક સુધારણાને માટે સમાજ પ્રેરિત થશે તો કલંક મિટાવતાં વાર નહીં લાગે. આપણો ભૂતકાળ ગમે તેવો વીત્યો હોય, ભવિષ્યના સામર્થ્યવાન ગુજરાત માટે, આપણે સમાજ-ઊર્જાને ઉજાગર કરીને, નાગરિક ધર્મના કર્તવ્યભાવનાની કેડી કંડારવી છે એમ તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું.

મુખ્યમંત્રીએ ગુજરાતનું એકેએક ગામ નિર્મળ ગ્રામ બને તે માટે સરપંચોને નેતૃત્વ પુરૂં પાડવા, પ્રત્યેક ગામમાં કુપોષણથી પીડાતા ગરીબ પરિવારોની સગર્ભા માતા અને બાળકને પોષક આહારરૂપે સુખડીની અને દૂધની ગ્રામસમસ્ત જવાબદારીની મિશાલ ખડી કરવા પ્રેરક માર્ગદર્શન આપ્યું હતું.ગુજરાતની આર્થિક પ્રગતિને કારણે રોજગારી માટે સ્થળાંતરિત અન્ય રાજ્યોના નાગરિકો સહિત શહેરી શ્રમજીવી પરિવારો શહેરી ગરીબીના ખપ્પરમાં હોમાઇ જાય નહીં પરંતુ શહેરોની ઝૂંપડપટ્ટી તથા શહેરી ગરીબોના જીવનધોરણ ઉચું લાવનારી પાયાની સુવિધા-સુખાકારી માટે સંવેદનશીલ સંકલ્પોનો નિર્ધાર તેમણે વ્યકત કર્યો હતો. નગરરચના નહીં પણ સમાજ સંરચના એ શહેરી વિકાસનું ધ્યેય છે તેમ તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું.ગ્રામવિકાસમાં પર્યાવરણ અને હરિયાળા વૃક્ષોના સંવર્ધનને પ્રાથમિકતા આપવા તેમણે સરપંચોને આહવાન કર્યું હતું. ગ્રામવિકાસના છૂટાછવાયા પ્રયાસોને અને નવા આયામોને એકસૂત્રીય સામાજિક જનઅભિયાનની સુનિશ્ચિત દિશામાં પ્રેરિત કરવા સમાજનું યુવા નેતૃત્વ આગળ આવે તેના ઉપર મુખ્યમંત્રીએ ભાર મૂકયો હતો. ગુજરાતના એકેએક નગર-મહાનગર અને ગામે-ગામ સમાજજીવનમાં સ્વર્ણિમ સંકલ્પનું સાર્વત્રિક વાતાવરણ સર્જીને ગુજરાતની સુવર્ણ જ્યંતિનો અવસર ઉજવવાનો નિર્ધાર તેમણે વ્યકત કર્યો હતો.

જિલ્લાઓના સ્વર્ણિમ સંકલ્પો અને અભિનવ આયામોને આવકારતાં મુખ્યમંત્રીએ ધર્મસંપ્રદાયો, મંદિર-ટ્રસ્ટો, ધાર્મિક સંતો-મહંતો અને ગાદીપતિઓ દ્વારા ચાલતા અન્નક્ષેત્ર-ભોજનાલય દ્વારા સમાજમાંથી કુપોષણની નાબૂદીને માટેનું નેતૃત્વ લેવાનું પ્રેરક સૂચન કર્યું હતું.મુખ્યમંત્રીએ ગુજરાતની યુનિવર્સિટીઓ, યુવાશકિત અને પ્રબુદ્ધ સંગઠ્ઠનોને ગુજરાતના સાંસ્કૃતિક વિરાસત સમા કલા, સાહિત્ય અને સંસ્કાર વૈભવનું સંવર્ધન કરવા માટે પ્રેરણાદાયી માર્ગદર્શન પણ આપ્યું હતું અને રોટરી-લાયન્સ-જેસીસ-ચેમ્બર ઓફ કોમર્સના અભિયાનો શિક્ષણ અને સંસ્કારના ગૂણોત્સવ માટે પ્રેરક ઊર્જા પૂરી પાડે તેવી અભ્યર્થના વ્યકત કરી હતી.

ગુજરાતની સુવર્ણ જ્યંતિના વર્ષમાં રાજ્યની નવી પેઢી માટે જ્ઞાનશકિતની ઉપાસના સ્વરૂપે વિરાટ વાંચન અભિયાન, ખેલકૂદ ક્ષેત્રે યુવાકૌશલ્ય માટે ગુજરાત ઓલિમ્પીક-ખેલ મહાકુંભનું આયોજન હાથ ધરવાના નિર્ધારની રૂપરેખા તેમણે આપી હતી.પર્યાવરણ ક્ષેત્રે નગરો અને ગ્રામ પંચાયતોના તંત્રો દ્વારા "કચરામાંથી કંચન''ના પ્રોજેકટ હાથ ધરવા અને ધનકચરાને ધનકંચનમાં રૂપાંતરિત કરવાની જરૂર ઉપર તેમણે ભાર મૂકયો હતો.સમાજજીવનમાં પ્રજાકીય પુરૂષાર્થની પરાકાષ્ઠા માટે ગુજરાતમાં નેતૃત્વ પ્રત્યેક ક્ષેત્રમાં પ્રગટે તેવી અપેક્ષા મુખ્યમંત્રીએ વ્યકત કરી હતી.

રામ રાખે તેને કોણ ચાખે, રશિયાના પર્મ શહેરમાં વ્યસ્ત માર્ગ પર આવી જ અજબ ગજબની એક ઘટના ઘટી હતી. સિગ્નલ બંધ હતું, બધા વાહન ચાલકો સિગ્નલ ખુલવાની રાહ જોઈ રહ્યા હતા. આ સમયે એક વ્યક્તિ ચાલીને માર્ગ ઓળંગી રહ્યો હતો ત્યારે બ્રેક થેઈલ થઈ ગયેલી એક બસ પુરપાટે આવી અન્ય વાહનોને હડફેટે લીધા હતા. જેમાં આ વ્યક્તિનો આબાદ બચાવ થયો હતો.
